Oppo, I have a need for answers. My wife has never had to opportunity to experience a real Christmas tree, so we were hoping to get one for our apartment this year. The problem with this plan is that our car is a 2003 Honda Accord coupe. Current plan is to put a moving blanket on the roof, put the netted tree on top of that with the tree trunk pointing forward and run tie-down straps through the door frames to keep on there.
Given that we only have two doors on the front half of the car, I’m not really sure this is going to be enough to secure it. So, have any ideas on how we can securely transport a 7-8’ tree with a 2 door car?

Where are you located? What if you strap through the door’s windows and don’t notch it too tight. close the windows for the most part :)

Oh, I see. NOW you need the guy that drives a truck! All year long, it’s “No one needs to DD a truck and anyone that does is a stupid head that should’ve bought a brown diesel station wagon with a stick shift”, but now that a tree needs to get hauled, it’s “Oh, hey, yeah no, I was just teasing about your truck being a bad choice, what are you doing Saturday morning?”
Well, NO. NO I will NOT help you haul your dumbass Jesus tree. You shouldn’t have been mean all year to me.
That's what you were getting at, right?

They don’t weigh much. We hiked with them for a couple miles, stuffed in the back of the kia, strapped on top...you’ll be fine.

To be fair, it’s not just the tree. I’ll make sure to call you next time I need to move a fridge or some furniture too!

The moving blanket is a good idea. Two or three ratchet straps should be about enough to keep it in place, but I don’t know what your options are for anchoring locations. You probably wouldn’t want to hook them up to your wheel arches...
I think I’d rather just spend $20 on a Home Depot rental truck.

Eh?
(Not my car. I couldn’t find a picture of one moving a fridge/freezer).

Sounds like a reasonable plan. Only thing I’d do is point the tree trunk first. Christmas trees are usually wrapped with their branches pulled up toward the top of the tree.
But yeah, how to tie it on. I’m guessing you don’t have a roof rack of any sort?

I imagine that you were waiting for this. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting oh so patiently.

Then you won’t be able to open the doors!

Nope, no roof rack. Home Depot might be the way to go.
